Welcome! This is a website that everyone can build together. It's easy!

The Inner Workings of an OutsiderThis is a featured page

Good morning/afternoon/evening/day/night to all you children of all ages and races and welcome to this cyber space.
You have stumbled upon the outlet for all my information and ignorance.
Within these scattered thoughts and plagurisms you'll find several useful tools for battling the inner robot that threatens to, or already has, consume your mind, body, and soul.
And since this is a wetpaint site I encourage others to add to, comment on, or readjust the contents of anything that follows, unless I don't like it.

How To Build GLOBAL Community

  • Think of no one as "them"
  • Don't confuse your comfort with your safety
  • Talk to strangers
  • Imagine other cultures through their art, poetry and novels
  • Listen to music you don't understand
  • Dance to it
  • Act locally
  • Notice the workings of power & privilege in your culture
  • Question consumption
  • Know how your lettuce and coffee are grown: wake up and smell the exploitation
  • Look for fair trade and union labels
  • Help build economies from the bottom up
  • Acquire few needs
  • Learn a second (or third) language
  • Visit people, places, and cultures - not tourist attractions
  • Learn people's history
  • Re-define progress
  • Know physical and political geography
  • Play games from other cultures
  • Watch films with subtitles
  • Know your heritage
  • Honor everyone's holidays
  • Look at the moon and imagine someone else, somewhere else, looking at it too
  • Read the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights
  • Understand the global economy in terms of people, land and water
  • Know where your bank banks
  • Never believe you have a right to anyone else's resources
  • Refuse to wear corporate logos: defy corporate domination
  • Question military/corporate connections
  • Don't confuse money with wealth, or time with money
  • Have a pen/email pal
  • Honor indigenous cultures
  • Judge governance by how well it meets all people's needs
  • Be skeptical about what you read
  • Eat adventurously
  • Enjoy vegetables, beans and grains in your diet
  • Choose curiosity over certainty
  • Know where your water comes from and where your wastes go
  • Pledge allegiance to the earth: question nationalism
  • Think South, Central and North - there are many Americas
  • Assume that many others share your dreams
  • Know that no one is silent though many are not heard. Work to change this.

WORDS OF WISDOM

  • Be profound, funny, or quiet

  • Learn as if you were going to live forever. Live as if you were going to die tomorrow

  • Ten out of ten people die, so don't take life too seriously.

  • What we see depends largely on what we look for

  • Tell me and I'll forget, show me and I may not remember, involve me and I'll understand

  • Good judgement comes from experience, which often comes from poor judgement

  • You ask if the glass is half empty or half full, I say who cares! At least you've got something to drink

  • A good scare is worth more to a person than bad advice

  • If you're petting a stray dog with your left hand, be sure you've got a rock in your right

  • Foolish friends are always worse than wise enemies

  • The greatest undeveloped territory in the world is under your hat

Thank You For Not Breeding

Please think twice about bringing more kids into this world when there's plenty of kids out there who already need parents and homes.Home - Wit, Will, and Wisdom Instead of coming up with more programs to try and fix the results of our problems we need to focus more on fixing the problems themselves. We're overpopulated, we don't need to build more homes, grow more food, invent more miracle drugs, and create more pointless ways of keeping the millions of people busy, we need a smaller population, it's not that hard to fix people. We spend so much friggin money on avoiding death it's sickening. Death is a simple part of life, get used to it, it's not going to go away.
